Welcome to Black Hawk Senior Residence
Our History
Black Hawk Senior Residence was established in 1991 when the Logan family remodeled the historic Black Hawk Hotel into a state-licensed CBRF containing 36 private bedrooms, each with a full private bathroom. There are also two 2-room suites for couples. Rooms are bright and spacious with large windows overlooking downtown or the hidden garden. Residents may furnish and decorate as they please.
Our Mission
Our mission is to care for our residents for the remainder of their lives.
To that end, we host hospice and home- health services, allowing residents to stay in their new home as long as possible. In addition, we drive and accompany residents to local medical appointments to assure that doctors’ orders are accurately conveyed and followed.

The Black Hawk employs a full-time activity director and provides resident-focused programming seven days a week, both in our facility and out in the community.

Medication management
We promote living life to its fullest with resident cats and birds, as well as dogs that visit from home. We also have a hidden garden that explodes with color every spring. Residents can help tend the raised beds, relax on a swing or share a cup of coffee or glass of lemonade under an umbrella with friends.

We employ a Registered Nurse, which allows us to offer the following services: Fixed-dose or sliding-scale insulin, Catheter care, and Psychotropic medications.

Every meal that comes out of our kitchen is made from scratch, using locally sourced ingredients when possible. Care staff and management eat with the residents, providing additional socialization and encouraging proper nutritional intake. We also can accommodate specialized diets and dietary restrictions.
